Equalizer vs. BIG-IP

バランサーの機器は6年前から、F5 Networks 社の BIG-IP HA+ という製品、さらに2年前からは BIG-IP 1000 というスイッチタイプになっってフラッシュメモリー化されたバランサーを追加導入してきています。
この CLOG というブログシステムや、沖縄データセンターで稼働する「てぃーだブログ」についても BIG-IP 1000 でロードバランスされています。

さて、今度お客様のネットワークにロードバランサーを導入することになり、Equalizer E350si を HA 構成で導入することになり、環境構築の準備に取りかかっている最中です。

値段的にはかなりの差がある両製品。どのような違いがあるんでしょうか。

Equalizer のシリアルコンソールでログインした直後。まさしくFreeBSD。Based on FreeBSD のバランサーなのです。
